Light held in the surface

Golden Afterlight begins with texture: tiny reflective details, sculptural gold and skin that still looks tactile. The light is controlled and directional. Highlights sit beside deep shadow, keeping the portrait mysterious without losing the eyes or the shape of the face.

Three expressions of material

The close portrait concentrates on the gaze. A fuller golden silhouette gives the material volume, while the sand sculpture shifts the same warm palette towards a dry, matte finish. Each frame changes scale as well as texture.

The eye remains the centre

In the accompanying film, fabric conceals part of the face and small metallic ornaments catch the light. The minimal movement makes the eye the strongest point of connection, echoing the still images without repeating their composition.
